World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to boost the gear score of an item to 700 and add a final perk. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you take them to the Kiln.
Certain items can be upp'd to increase their stats (like an ideally broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) while other items, such as weapons do not change significantly after an upgrade, and therefore aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can increase their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit probability and PvE/PvP damage. They also have a flat bonus that increases their damage per second. Some weapons also have an unaffected bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are used in a single unit. In some cases this bonus could add up to more than the amount of damage that a weapon is able to upgrade on its own.
A weapon's upgrade costs depend on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For example an item with a rating of +2 will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while the +3 model requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue increase until it requires an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones, at which point it will reset to one.
Upgraded weapons can also alter their base stats. This is usually a good aspect, but it may also have negative consequences. Upgrades can render items impossible to use, unless you are extremely lucky.
Armor items can also be upgraded to increase their stats. This can boost the base defense of a helm or chest, while belts and gloves will boost their required strength and agility. Armor also offers an option to reroll its Enhanced Defense percent, which means that it may roll back to a lower number.
The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats it will gain when upgrading along with the relative values of those stats. This means that the weapon will gain 33% attack damage when it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% does not mean that the weapon will strike 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.
Rerolling a weapon can be possible by pressing the green button within the item menu, using the arrows that circle. This will roll the item and alter its stats however, it will not reset the weapon's level or bind to account status.
Armor
A few armor upgrades can make all the difference to your survivability. Certain sets offer massive increases in poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, making traversing tough areas a breeze. The more defense your character is, the more value you will get out of each point of health, so it's important to improve your armor as often as you can.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four in total each of which requires you to complete a unique side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've completed the primary side quest and mastered the fountain that corresponds, you can then contact any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels, and the amount of materials and Rupees required for each level will differ. You'll require anything from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade your first armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade the next one. The Champion Leathers, as an example can be upgraded to an increase of 5 defense rating, which allows you to remain competitive in frigid environments with a large group of enemies. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded as high as +20 defense so that you can survive a raid with friends.
It isn't possible to upgrade armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior it is best to focus on upgrading your armor to increase physical strength or the power of spells. upgrade item 's also a good idea to save your armor upgrades for the armor you'll wear at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you use to fight the final boss, the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town and you will be able to unlock some perks on your armor. It is generally recommended to save these upgrades to the weapon you'll use to win the game. For instance, the Longsword or Battleaxe. It's nevertheless beneficial to have some upgrades for the chest armor and helmets to let you escape some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that, when consumed by the player, provide an immediate effect. There are five kinds of potions, each having a specific set of effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to increase their level of effectiveness. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by including glowstone dust and redstone.
Upgrades to potion require a certain amount of XP. This can be earned by making them on a table or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The upgrade price varies depending on the type of potion as well as the item's Rarity and Mark Level.
To upgrade a potion you need to right-click it in your inventory. Then, select "Upgrade" from the menu. This opens an GUI in which you can select the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they'll give you when upgraded. Once a potion is upgraded, it won't degrade until you re-use it, or break the bottle it's stored in. You can also rename the potion by clicking it in your inventory.
Version 1.7.2 introduced a few changes to the mechanism of potions. For instance splash potions now have the duration of 0:08 (this is not the same as 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display for the item). The potion table is now made of four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players in Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons, as is the case with Java Edition. The same is true for using a potion within the cauldron that is filled. This will draw out the potion and refill the bottle.
Lastly, there are now lingering potions, which are made using dragon breath and splash potions. Similarly, a lingering potions effect can be extended by adding redstone to it. The table of potion ingredients is rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions are also added, for instance, the potion of leaping and decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket could be a small, inexpensive ornament or piece jewelry. It could also be an object or ornament that serves a purpose, but isn't important, like a Thimble. In some cultures, a trinket is a way to show affection or friendship between family members.
Trinkets can be upgraded by players in addition to weapons and armor, as well as potions. They can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate amount in currency. As with other upgrades to items trinkets, trinkets can be exchanged at will without losing their status.
The upgrade vendors are found in major cities and in the capital of each zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are offered using tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.
Upgrades are a cost-effective alternative to purchasing a new trinket. One can upgrade their trinket for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base level as the previous trinket but will also have an additional 1% bonus upgrade.
Once the old Trinkets have become no longer useful they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase both their power and value with time. They can be traded among players and are a viable alternative to gold.
In general players should upgrade their most important items first. This means that the best-in slot items for each class are upgraded first, followed by their secondary gear, and then other pieces of equipment they won't replace anytime soon (such as rings or cloaks). When deciding on which items to upgrade, players should be aware of the preferred statistics of their class. For instance when Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tanks, they should be focusing on upgrading their helm, chest shoulders, belt, and chest.
Trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level once they're no longer needed and the new trinket can be upgraded to have an additional upgrade bonus of 1. Re-upgrading will destroy the trinket unless it is saved using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, yet is still less expensive than buying an entirely new trinket.
